2026 Theme
In this year’s carnival, we become those diamonds—warriors of sparkle and spirit. Our costumes are the fire inside the stone: deep emerald greens of the raw earth, flashes of silver and gold like light catching a new facet, bursts of ruby, sapphire, and amethyst representing the treasures hidden within.
As the music takes over the streets, we move in unison, a river of precious stones brought to life. Each masquerader shines differently—some bold, some mysterious, some wild—but together, we create a living crown for the road.

VISION
The ‘Costume Creator – Social & Sustainable ARTS Entrepreneur’ initiative’s main goal is to train aspiring and established fashion entrepreneurs on how to gain a new competitive advantage that will help them succeed in the ethical fashion business
PURPOSE / GOALS
∙ Youth will become leaders of change in their communities
- Youth will learn a variety of skills that they can use in other areas of their lives
- Youth will become aware of global issues facing youth through Arts and Culture
- Youth will develop a working knowledge of the Carnival Arts and Culture and they role they will play in helping to achieve it
- Youth will develop a tool to evaluate and report back to the experiences and achievements of their project
- Youth will develop a plan to address the sustainability of this project in order to make this opportunity available to other youth
- Youth will have a better understanding of their communities and a broader understanding of the global community.
- Youth will see themselves as powerful people capable of making positive contributions to their communities and Toronto carnival
